Behavior Is Often a Smoke Alarm
Correct the behavior, but do not forget to investigate what it is protecting or expressing.
A child acting out is not always being bad. Sometimes the behavior is a smoke alarm. Something is overwhelmed, scared, hungry, ashamed, or tired. You still set limits, but you also look for the fire.
