Translate the Stories, Not Just the Words
Preserving a family means preserving the texture, not just the timeline.
When I was younger, I translated bills and forms for my parents. Later I realized I also needed to translate their stories for my own kids. Otherwise all that courage just turns into a vague sentence like, 'they worked hard.'
Shared from one person's lived experience, not offered as a universal rule.
